Kurz je určen všem zájemcům o prohloubení znalostí rabínského judaismu a nabídne seznámení s dějinami a texty židovské halachické literatury i rabínskou metodologií studia a přístupů k těmto tradičním textům. První část zmapuje historický vývoj halachy od jejích kořenů v biblické tradici, přes různé midraše a ústní tradice až k prvním velkým halachickým kodexům ve středověku (Maimonidova Mišné Tóra a dílo Arba Turim od Jacoba ben Ašera alias Tura), v novověku (zejména Šulchan Aruch Josefa Kara až k moderním výkladům a kompilacím halachy od 19. století do současnosti. Další část kurzu se pokusí na základě výběru halachických textů ukázat, jak se ten či onen zákon dodržoval ve středověku, v 19. století či dnes. Zároveň poukáže na odlišný status (de oraita a de rabanam) i hierarchii židovských zákonů, stejně jako na skutečnost, že se tyto zákony dodržovaly odlišně v různých geografických podmínkách (Orient, Severní Afrika, Západní Evropa, Východní Evropa apod.), ale i společenských (města a venkov), případně ideologických (země pod vlivem křesťanství a země pod vlivem islámu apod.) kontextech. A konečně poslední část kurzu se zaměří na některá vybraná konkrétní aktuální témata, která nabídnou studentům možnost seznámit se s rabínskou metodologií a osobně se seznámit s halachickými texty a jejich logikou. Studenti se naučí pracovat v chevrutě (tradiční židovské studium ve dvou).
The course is intended for all those interested in deepening their knowledge of rabbinic Judaism and will offer an introduction to the history and texts of Jewish halachic literature as well as the rabbinic methodology of studying and approaching these traditional texts. The first part maps the historical development of halacha from its roots in the biblical tradition, through various midrashes and oral traditions to the first great halachic codes in the Middle Ages (Maimonid's Mishneh Torah and the work Arba Turim by Jacob ben Asher alias Tura), in the modern age (especially the Shulchan Aruch of Joseph Kara to modern interpretations and compilations of halachic law from the 19th century to the present. de oraita and de rabanam) and the hierarchy of Jewish laws, as well as the fact that these laws were observed differently in different geographical conditions (Orient, North Africa, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, etc.), but also social ones (cities and countryside), possibly ideological contexts (countries under the influence of Christianity and countries under the influence of Islam, etc.) And finally, the last part of the course will focus on some selected specific current topics, which will offer students the opportunity to become familiar with rabbinic methodology and personally familiarize themselves with halachic texts and their logic . Students will learn to work in a chevruta (traditional Jewish study in pairs).
