Lifelong learning at Charles University ****************************************************************************************** * ****************************************************************************************** Charles University is a traditional centre of education and therefore we consider lifelong an integral part of our extensive educational activities. We have placed great emphasis on and support. The significance and potential of lifelong learning continues to grow, as edu not only as preparation for life, but also as an essential part of it. Lifelong learning a our capacity to adapt to constantly changing conditions. Lifelong learning is defined as education that complements, deepens, renews or extends the skills and qualifications of its participants. Lifelong learning programmes are provided w the framework of accredited study programmes and are carried out in full-time, distance or not only in Czech but also, for example, in English. Lifelong learning programmes can be either profession or interest-oriented. This basic div programmes within the Czech context is based on the Act on Higher Education. Specific type oriented education are foundation courses and the University of the Third Age. Our new off courses leading to micro-credentials that combine the needs of industry and academia.
Lifelong learning programmes do not confer on their participants the status of a student u Higher Education. More detailed requirements for lifelong learning at Charles University are specified in th Learning Regulations [ URL "https://cuni.cz/UK-146.html#18"] , the amended version of whic on 1 January 2017. Programme graduates are issued a certificate of completion by the University, the details set out in the Rector's Directive No. 68/2017 Elements of a Certificate of Completion of a Learning Programme and of Completion of an Internationally Recognised Course [ URL "https: UKEN-1085.html"] .
